Billy was born on September 24, 1925 in Gustine, Texas, son of Thomas Jefferson and Mary Gladys (Hughes) Davis.
He married Jerline Crain on August 4, 1945 in San Saba, Texas. She survives in Plano.
Also surviving children are Billy Craig Davis of Apache Junction, Arizona, Patricia Diane Davis Rattan of Combine, Texas, Pamela D’Uan Davis Berendzen of Combine, Texas as well as twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by son Donald Dale Davis-- father, Thomas Jefferson Davis-- brother Martin Slaughter Davis-- mother Mary Gladys Hughes Davis-- son, Ronald (Ronnie) Gale Davis.
Bill served in the Army during WWII. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He and Jerline married while still serving and shortly after discharge, they started a family in San Saba, Texas.
Through the years he became actively involved in church where he became a deacon and raised his family in a loving Christian home.
He retired after 40 years working as an auto body mechanic.
His favorite past times were gardening and furniture refinishing.
He was an active grandfather and great grandfather.
His wife was the love of his life and he was very proud of the almost 70 years they were married.
The Memorial Service and Celebration of Life for Billy will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Ted Dickey West Funeral Home located at George Bush and Coit in Dallas.
