Tom's funeral mass remembrance:

I’ve known Beverly for 27 years now.  At first glance my thoughts were do I really want to be a part of this?  I knew that if I married her sister Donna I would eventually have to take on that responsibility.  I’m glad I said yes to both of these obligations.
She was the model of consistency, displayed unconditional love to all around her, especially family and friends, many who are here today not just to mourn her passing, but to celebrate her life ever lasting.  If there was anyone who punched their ticket to heaven, it was Bev.
I would often come into her room, hear her talking, even though no one was present in the room, and ask her “Who are you talkin to Bev?”  She would always respond “God”.  I now truly believe she probably was.  
Her sister Donna and my wife Donna told the story about her behavior this past Sunday indicating she was talking to deceased relatives including Nanny, Dutchie, Pop, Gracie, among others, and they were saying “Come on baby”, and I actually believe she was.  Donna knew it was her time, and she was correct.  I’m glad I talked her into staying with Bev last Sunday instead of myself, so she could experience this event.  This same day when I went to Fort Worth to watch my daughter Emily play volleyball, upon entering the facility, I saw a young girl, probably around 4 or 5 years old with Downs Syndrome talking to herself and playing just outside the building.  I could not help but feel Bev’s or somebody else’s presence.  It was a feeling of warmth for sure.
Bev was a fixture at all events and befriended anyone who would listen to her.  She entered all conversations regardless of the conditions and was typically the life of the party.  She was blessed to have two sisters who took care of her for many years under many trying and difficult circumstances.  I tried to do the same, and became the brother she never had.  Along with this came teaching her things only a brother could come up with, and hopefully not repeated in public.
Bev, the house will never be the same, it will become too quiet, and too routine.  You left a lasting impression on me, my wife, and children.  The morning routine of shuffling in and having a waffle or pancake became a ritual.  The kitchen table will forever be a shrine where you spent endless hours coloring and positioning your colors.  We watched the transition from coloring boxes, to multiple boxes, to colors in baggies, to colors on the table for immediate use along with all of your other standby colors.  You literally left an impression upon the table and chair where you spent so many hours.  
Breakfast bars may continue to be strategically positioned in spots around the house for easy access, and perhaps a dog treat.  The PM meal before the meal (soft taco with beans and cheese) was also a lasting legacy.  Frito Lay will be forever in dept to you for historical consumption of their bean dip.  
At one time, your ability to fold laundry was unprecedented, but in later years became a mad scientist project.  I will forever remember the sock pile designated as (others).
I’m a better person because I lived in the same house and interacted with you for almost 12 years.  I will miss you, as we all will but know that you are fine, or as you would say, “I fine”.  And as you would also say “That Nice”.

Janna's funeral mass remembrance:

I’ve never known another human being who could express their love with such joyous perfection as Beverly did to each and every individual she came into contact with.  Her sparkling smile was irresistible and could effortlessly light up any room. She prepared me, and guided me to develop an honest understanding, and acceptance of the differences in people.  
 She gave only the purest form of love and devotion from the time I was born.  It always brought a smile to my face hearing her reminisce of how she would hold me, rock me, and sing to me when I was a baby.  When I was a young girl she was the model playmate and her childlike imagination was quick to influence mine as well, and together we made the best of pals.  I remember coloring with her, watching Full House, dancing to the opening of Free Willy, and countless sleepovers.  It was great when my special friend finally came to live with us and together we would lay on her bed and gossip about how cute Leonardo DiCaprio was in the movie Titanic.  
 Bev was without a question the best friend one could ask for.  She was always front and center at all sporting events, cheering the loudest, and ready to come hug you, and congratulate everyone- even if you lost.  As an awkward teenager and even up until now- only Bev could reassure you of how gorgeous you looked, or how great an outfit looked on you, no matter what you were wearing.  Hearing her enthusiastic choice of compliments was a guaranteed confidence boost.  
 I will forever envy her optimistic outlook on life; and how she could so easily win the hearts and friendships of so many.   She has influenced me to embrace everyone with open arms, and firmly instilled the importance of a spontaneous personality.  She truly was an angel who willingly shared her gifts with so many.  
She was always there for you no matter what, I can easily recall times where “Me.. . .  . I’m on Janna’s side”, came out of her mouth.  Almost everyday without fail she was usually the only one who would ask how your day was, how was school- what did you and so on.  Another favorite of mine was our usual conversation before I left for work: “You going to work at Tony’s?” “Yep” “Okay, make good tips!” And she was always there to greet me when I got home, eager to discuss how much money I made- and no matter what that number was she always responded with an enthusiastic “Alight!”    
Out of all the things I have gained from Beverly: kindness, laughter, friendship, courage, confidence, stubbornness, honesty, responsibility, support-- the most virtuous of all is patience- the finest strength of character one can possess.  I learned patience for all of the right reasons and I applaud her for that.  
But I believe her motherly warmth gave me the best feeling of all.  The night before Bev got sick I remember being really upset about things, and it was late at night and I was crying, and I went into her bedroom and sat with her, and even though it felt like the end of the world to me, she turned my world upside down and set it upright.  And only she could have done that at that moment in time.  And over the past few months she’s said to me on several occasions, usually while I was helping her with things-“Your gonna make a great mom someday” and I hope she’s right and that I carry her warmth with me for the rest of my life.  
Our house holds a different kind of silence that I’m not quite used to yet, and now there’s no one to continuously leave all the lights on inside- but I know that no matter what she will always leave a light on inside my heart, and it will never go out.

Jen's funeral mass special remembrance:

My sweet Beverly; it is difficult to imagine that you will not be here with us anymore.  No more phone calls asking if I’m coming over, you won’t be asking me to bring you a chili cheese dog from sonic anymore, you won’t be here to ask if you can ride with me to pick up Brendan and Elizabeth from school, and you won’t be here to ask me for a hug.
I won’t get to hear your sweet voice anymore asking me to tell you why you’re special or your sweet voice telling me how much you love me. 
You have been a part of me my entire life and it feels as though a piece of me is missing.  You are my sister and my friend.  It has always been Donna, Bev and Jen – the three sisters.  We have all three stuck together. We survived tragedies and conflicts, but we always held strong together.  
We have been sad together, we have cried together, we have laughed together and we have danced together. 
You have taught me how to love unconditionally, you have taught me how to forgive, and you have taught me patience.  I am a better person because of you. 
I found a note that you had written me for my birthday one year and it reads, “ Happy Birthday Jen. I love you.  Donna and I and you, we always together thru good times and fun times. We always stick together as sisters.  As sisters, always love each other – forever.  Love, Beverly.
You are one of the greatest gifts I have ever been given.  I thank God for you and I know that you are of of His angels now in Heaven.  And, I feel safe knowing that you will always be a special guardian angel for your nieces and nephews.

I am so sorry for your loss. It seems not long ago that I would talk with Bev over on Berkinshire. You are a good and loving family to each other and especially Beverly. My thoughts and prayers are with Beverly and all of you.
