Betty Louise Koch, 89, of Dallas, Texas entered the embrace of the Lord early Sunday morning, August 9, 2020 in her home surrounded by her adoring family, held by the hand of her lifelong love, Tom Koch.
She was born to the late J. Louis Sturtz and late Bessie Bickett Sturtz on September 21, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated from Loretto Academy in St. Louis, Missouri prior to moving with her family to Dallas, Texas in 1952, where she would live the balance of her life. During a Church function she soon met Tom, the love of her life. They received the Sacrament of Marriage on October 6, 1956 at Christ the King Catholic Church. She then began her 64 year vocation of wife and mother. So selflessly was she devoted to this calling that her descendants have multiplied abundantly. So loving, so giving, so thoughtful, so patient, so caring, so tender, so tireless in her dedication to family that she gave us a living reflection of the Immaculate Mother. Her talents for cooking, painting, sewing, et cetera found their expression almost exclusively in service of her faith and family.
She was an overflowing vessel of love that filled many hearts and lives. She has been described as both an angel and a saint on earth.
Betty is survived by her beloved husband, Tommy, their eight children, Tom Jr., Rick, David, Bill, Mary, Pat, Juliet and Terry and their spouses, twenty grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, and her two sisters, Jeri Shand and Chris Bryant.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, two unborn children, her sister Janet Waters and her nephew Travis Bryant.
In life, Betty/Mom/Nanny was a shining example for us all. She never judged, she was filled with grace, and everyone was welcomed.
