Bessie Ross

Loved and admired by all Bessie Louise Spain, who was born in Alvarado Texas September 29, 1918 and preceded in death by William Oscar Spain and Mattie Bet Doyle Spain, went to her heavenly home to meet her Lord, husband and parents. Preceded in death by her husband J.D. (John) Ross. Also, preceded in death by her brother William Oscar Spain, Jr. and Sister-in-Law, Bette Huffman Spain. Survived by 3 children, Martha Ann Ross Fitch, Karen Ross Gournay Cosby Williams and son Stephen Terry Ross, Grandchildren Katherine Lynette Fitch Books, Jennifer Lynn Fitch Eaton, Jonathan Neal Fitch, Michael Bret Gournay, Mathew Bryce Gournay, Samuel Nathan Ross Thornton and Wendy Noel Ross Thornton Hannon and 17 great grandchildren, 2 nephews Bobby Johnson and Bill Spain. She was happiest when working on one of her many projects and spending time with the Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She was very talented and succeeded at any craft she undertook. Her work was flawless and enjoyed by all she shared with. She loved her volunteer work including 20 years at the Cockrell Hill library and serving on the Board there. She was a kind and tender person who was loved by all who knew her both family and friends. .
