Bertha Ann Greggs

Bertha Ann Greggs, Age 77 of Dallas, Texas, sadly left us on July 5, 2023 after a long battle with cancer. Bertha was diagnosed with cancer only a few short months after retiring from Lights Fantastic where she worked for 33 years.

Bertha was born on September 19, 1945 in Selma, Alabama to Otis and Dallas Whatley. Bertha’s family moved to Dallas in 1951 and she graduated from South Oak Cliff High School.

Bertha was predeceased by her father and mother, Otis and Dallas Whatley and her brother, Leon Whatley. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Danny and Tonia Craig; daughter Robin Craig; grandchildren Danny Lee and Otis Craig, Kenneth Johnson and wife Courtney, and Darrell McIntosh; brother and sister-n-law Jimmy and Sherry Whatley; nephew, Jimmy Whatley Jr., and niece Kristy Paul; as well as many great-grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews.

Bertha lived a full life, and her greatest love was her family and the annual Christmas gatherings she hosted in her home. She made sure she had a gift for everyone who was there and always made her family’s favorite dishes. She was a great cook and will be truly missed.

A visitation for Bertha will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L., Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. A Celebration of Life will occur on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 6300 South R.L., Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. A Committal Service will occur on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM, 6300 South R.L., Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232.
