Benton G. (BG) Reneau, Jr. of Ferris, Texas, departed this life on September 30, 2024, at the age of 99 years. BG was born in Floyd, Texas, on June 11, 1925, to Benton G. Reneau and Willie Amelia (Surratt) Reneau. BG was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 60 years, Delia Kathleen Reneau. He is survived by his children, Russell Reneau and Randall Reneau and wife, Carolyn; his four grandchildren, Jennifer Letcher and husband, Jeff, Kathleena (KC) Reneau, Brad Reneau and wife, Amie, Kevin Reneau and wife, Katie, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
BG proudly served his country in the 808th Engineer Aviation Battalion during World War II. After the war, BG began his career with Coca-Cola. It was while he was unloading cokes that he met and fell in love with his future wife, Delia! BG and Delia enjoyed many years managing motels all over Texas and Louisiana. Once the children started school, they settled down in Dallas and for many years they operated the Mobil gas station at Kiest and Westmoreland. They later moved to Lancaster where they operated the full-service Mobil gas station on Dallas Avenue.
BG lived a long and joyful life. He was a friend to many and always had a smile and a story to tell.
