Ben is preceded in death by his father, Oliver, mother, Juanita and brothers Robert, Charles and Kenneth Ferguson. He is survived by his wife Cynthia (Synne), his children Craig and his wife Trina, Kelley, and Krystoffer and his wife Kayla, his four grandchildren Colin, Charleigh, Liam and Carolina, his brother Billy, and his childhood best friend and “other brother” Woody Fuller.
Born in Dallas, Texas on December 12, 1950 to Oliver William and Juanita Ferguson. Growing up in Arcadia Park, in Oak Cliff, TX, he was the youngest of five boys. He overcame polio as a child and never let its’ side effects hold him back from doing what he wanted and loved. Ben graduated from Sunset High School and went on to become a police officer. He served several communities for over 35 years, including: Wilmer-Hutchins, Balch Springs, Woodland Hills, and the City of Murphy where he retired as Lieutenant after 21 years with the department. Ben was one of a kind, known for his infectious smile, sense of humor, and willingness to always help and serve others.
Ben was a devoted husband, father, Popo, friend and mentor to many. He enjoyed time with his family, planning road trips for vacations, going to the movies, being a Scout Leader with Boy Scouts of America with his sons, and volunteering his time to many community organizations. He was actively serving on the Allen Parks Foundation Board and The Collin County Meals On Wheels Board of Trustees. Ben served as a member of the City of Allen Parks & Recreation Board for 7 years, and the Collin County Committee on Aging Board of Trustees. He selflessly gave so much of his time, in so many ways, to always put others before him self.
Ben was loved by so many and he will be greatly missed by all that knew him. We know he is at peace now and joyfully celebrating life with his Lord and Savior.
