Beatrice Cecilia Formagus Mentesana of Dallas, Texas passed away on April 22, 2023. Bea was born in Port Arthur, Texas on May 24 1932. She was raised in a loving family and protected by her three older brothers. She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.
Mom always had an eye for fashion and was by Dad’s side keeping up with the latest trends. She enjoyed being the first to show-off Dad’s newest dress designs and entertaining the buyers with her hospitality was her specialty. She was proud of her Italian heritage, using her culinary skills to express it; even teaching her daughters-in-law how to make some of her most precious recipes. Bea was a talented artist who loved sharing her paintings with family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Philip Mentesana, father Charlie Formagus, mother Anne Macaluso Formagus, brothers Nace Formagus, Joe Formagus, Frank Formagus, and daughter-in-law JoAnn Mentesana.
She was survived by son Frank Mentesana and his children Bridgette, Frank Jr, wife Masha; son Steve Mentesana, wife Sharon and their children Marta, Stephen, and Maddie; son David Mentesana, wife Regina and their children Matt, Katie, and Emily; and her great grandchildren Isabella and John Henry.
Visitation with the family will begin at 12:00 PM, Rosary will be prayed at 1:00 PM followed by Liturgy of the Word on Wednesday April 26, 2023 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel. Interment to follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery. Deacon Tony Campise will preside.
