In loving memory and tribute to Beatrice M. Gonzalez a loving wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend.
Beatrice M Gonzalez passed from this life to be with our Lord on April 12, 2021, with her beloved husband Francisco Robert Gonzalez by her side.
She was born the youngest of six children to Guillermo “Daddy Willie” and Mary “Mama Mary” Medina on August 28, 1947 in San Antonio Texas. She lived her early years in San Antonio and graduated from Brackenridge High School.
Beatrice and Robert met in Monterey Mexico, while on vacation with her family, one week before her fifteenth birthday. On November 16, 1968, she married the love of her life Robert and moved to Dallas Texas where their three children Robert, Linda, and David were born.
Beatrice valued her children’s education. To provide greater opportunities for her children, she worked at Saint Cecilia Catholic School and Bishop Dunne High School as a cafeteria manager, while they were in attendance. After her husband retired, they spent much of their time traveling and enjoying daily life together.
Beatrice considered her family her greatest treasure. She and her husband were thrilled when their first grandbaby Celeste Beatrice Gonzalez was born. Their dream had finally come true. Then they were elated with the gift of twin girls Liliana and Marissa Gonzalez, they couldn’t imagine their world being better. However, they experienced additional joy when their grandsons Jonas and Jordan Rodriguez were born.
Beatrice had a love and passion for cooking and baking. Anytime someone would ask her how to make something she would say “oh that’s so easy.” She used her talent in cooking and baking with perfect love, many times providing baked goods for student fundraisers, church carnivals, and her specialty dishes for family and friend gatherings.
Beatrice was a genuine Foodie and loved to travel. She loved to look for family owned restaurants near and far. In her travels, her first question was “where are we eating,” knowing all the time that she had done her homework.
Beatrice was known as “Honey,” “Mom,” “Suegra,” “Aunt Beaty,” “Grandma,” and “Ms. Bea.” Each of us will remember her with love and know that her beautiful smile and joyful laugh will always be with us.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, her older sisters Eleanor Copeland and Isabel Ornelaz, and brothers Willie and Paul Medina.
Beatrice is survived by and will be dearly missed by her devoted husband of 52 years, her sister Rosie Hernandez, her eldest son Robert (Sylvia), daughter Linda (Henry), and youngest son David, her beautiful grandchildren, and beloved family members, extended family members, and friends.
Beatrice was the heart of her family and she will be in the hearts of her family and those who knew and loved her forever.
Her family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported them through this difficult time with prayers, phone calls, and visits.
