Barbara Helen Patak-Gigliotti, age 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. She was born in Bee, NE, and grew up on a farm in Seward County near Denton, NE, as the oldest of five siblings. After graduating from high school in 1952, Barbara moved to Lincoln, NE, where she found employment and met her future husband at a roller rink. She married Philip Gigliotti in 1956, with whom she would have celebrated her 68th wedding anniversary in July 2024.
Barbara dedicated herself to homemaking and volunteering for her church and children’s schools. She was a cherished mother to six children, nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. Barbara had the joy of meeting all her great-grandchildren before her passing.
She was predeceased by her parents Anton “Tony” Patak and Lillian Kathryn Hromas, as well as her sister Marilyn Patak-Hagg.
Barbara is survived by her beloved husband, Phil, her children Lori (Ken) Priddy, Scott (Cheri) Gigliotti, Diane (Jeff) Kruse, Gail Blackstone, Tom (Geri) Gigliotti, and Lynn (John) Marzullo. She is also survived by her four siblings: Tom (Carol) Patak, Kathy (Jerry) MacKenzie, and Joann (Tom) Mally, along with numerous other extended family members and a multitude of close friends.
Services
Monday, March 18, 2024, a celebration of life from 9:00 – 10:00 AM and a funeral mass from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 109 North Frazier Street, Conroe, TX. Reception with refreshments (light fare) immediately following. The preferred florist is Carters Florist, 1416 S Frazier St, Conroe, TX, www.txcarters.com.
