Barbara Robertson Key

Barbara Robertson Key, born May 15, 1929 and a resident of Dallas since 1948, passed away on September 11, 2022 in Mesquite, Texas at the age of 93. Barbara was born in Corsicana and graduated from Athens High School and had an associate’s degree in business from Eastfield College. She had a career in banking, working for many years at the Grove State Bank and retiring from Republic Bank. Barbara married Kermit Key in 1948. Their union was blessed with three children: Leighton Key,

Karen Key Johnson, and Parker Key, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was a faithful member of Lakepointe Church, White Rock Campus. She was predeceased by husband,

Kermit Key, son, Leighton Key, and daughter, Karen Key Johnson. Also by parents, Walter and Lucy Robertson, brother, Earl Robertson, and sister, Betty Boatner. She is survived by son, Parker Key. By grandchildren, Sarah Key Peters (Mike) and their children, Madelyn, Grace and Logan. Also by Laura Key, Emily Johnson Cooper (Cody) and their son Owen, and by Jep Johnson and Spencer. Survived by three nephews, two nieces, and a large host of dear friends.

Visitation will be at 10:00 am Friday, September 16th at Grove Hill Funeral Home, with funeral following 11:00 am, and burial afterwards at Grove Hill Cemetery.
