Barbara Ann Conn (Cloyd), 77, passed away on July 10, 2023 in Plano, Texas. She was born on October 8, 1945, in Dallas to Loy Frazier and Stella Marie Cloyd. She grew up in Edinburgh, Texas and graduated from high school there. She worked in banking and retired from Comerica.
Barbara was married to Jack Conn for 57 years and they lived in Richardson, Texas.
Barbara, called Nana by her family, loved life, and embraced it fully. She enjoyed taking care of her backyard garden and sitting on her swing watching the birds. She loved being active with Jack and her family, traveling, shopping at local antique stores, attending her grandchildren’s events, or taking a quick trip to the casinos with her cousins. She had just returned from her dream trip to Italy and Greece and spent the last day of the trip at the Vatican.
Her smile and mischievous twinkle in her eyes was only matched by just the right accessory. She loved entertaining and was known for going all-out decorating the house and yard at Christmas, filling each room of the home with trees and decorations. The dinner table always overflowed with food, family, and friends. She took baking classes with her granddaughter, Tessa, who now creates ornately decorated cakes. She enjoyed art and loved to paint with her grandson, Luca.
Barbara will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, friend, aunt, and Nana. She has many cousins, nephews and nieces and was proud of her big family and love them all with all her heart.
She is survived by husband Jack; daughter Amy Elizabeth Gutierrez; son-in-law Tony Pierce Gutierrez; two grandchildren, Luca Pierce Gutierrez, and Tessa Marie Gutierrez; sister Sharon Grantz; brother-in-law Michael Grantz; nephew Matthew Grantz; niece Janice Grantz; great nephew Max Grantz; great niece Paige Grantz; and sister-in-law Ann Cloyd.
And waiting for her in heaven is her brother Ronnie Gene Cloyd.
