AUBREY LEE SIMPSON was born to the parentage of Aubrey Lee Simpson, Sr., and Esther B. Simpson on December 7, 1947, in Dallas, Texas. Aubrey grew up under the leadership of his Father, Rev. Aubrey Simpson, Sr. at Evangelist Temple Missionary Baptist Church. He was educated in the Catholic schools, St. Anthony Elementary, and graduated from St. Peters High School. He worked with his dad and Uncle Burl at Neuhoff Meat Packing Co. He was called to the U.S. Army where he fought in Vietnam.
Upon his return from the Army, he got reacquainted with his longtime friend Leatrice Kiser, who later became his soulmate for 47 years. Together, they raised 6 children and 13 grandchildren with instilling the love of God every step of the way. While being a family man, Aubrey furthered his education by attending El Centro College. Aubrey went to work at Gulf Bearing Co., Hensley Steel, and later he worked at H&K Dallas, and did part-time work for Primerica Insurance Co. He retired from H&K Dallas.
He accepted his calling into the ministry and attended Criswell School of Ministry. He later went on to Pastored Harvest Way Community Church until his health failed.
Aubrey was a man of wisdom and knowledge, and he didn’t mind sharing that with others. He was a very kind, loving, and caring person, taught his family how to know and love God for themselves. Anyone who know Aubrey knew he had a special kind of love for his children and especially his grandchildren, and it gave him pure joy to have the relationship he shared with each one of them. He will also be remembered by the contagious laugh that had everyone around him laughing too. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and 2 brothers, David and Dwayne Simpson.
He is survived by his loving wife Leatrice Simpson. Aubrey is also survived by his sister, LaQuita Simpson; his daughters, Paula Williams (Merritt), Terri Coleman (Andre) and Kinyadia Bishop; his sons, Reginald Barrance (Donna), Darren Kiser, and Aubrey Lee Simpson Ill; 13 grandchildren, Jarrett, DeAndre, De’onta, Trenton, Destiny, Shaterria, Shatavia, Kaliyah, Kaleeb, Kaven, Taven, KeUndreia, and Donesha; and a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
