He was born the first of six children and he spent most of his young years working in his Grand Father’s cleaners. On July 26, 1954 he served his country by joining the US Air Force where he served as an Air Policeman as well as participated on the Track Team, until his Honorable Discharge in May 13, 1957.
He graduated from Pearl High in 1954. He attended Paul Quin College in Waco, Texas. He later began his career path with Sears & Roebuck and ultimately with the Geary, Stahl & Spencer Law Offices as an Expediter where he took his retirement from Geary Porter & Donovan.
He had two children Yvonne Dupree and Arthur E. Thompson III, from his marriage with Barbara Skinner.
He is preceded by his parents, Edwyna Johnson; Siblings, Joane Thompson, Wes Thompson, Faith Scales, Victor Thompson, Treva Davis, and Daughter; Yvonne Dupree.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, sister Clary Campbell of Alexandria, VA. Son, Arthur Earl Thompson III; and Grand Children, Shunte Dupree, Erika Margotta, and Matthew Dupree; Son-Law, Calvin Dupree, as well as a numerous host of nieces and nephews from California to DC.
