Arnold was a 1945 graduate of Breckenridge High School. He went on to proudly serve in the United States Air Force, stationed in Washington D.C., San Antonio, Bermuda, San Francisco, Panama City, and Denison, TX. Arnold was a career Dental Technician, retiring from both the Air Force and the VA Hospital in Dallas, for a combined total of 44 years. In between the two jobs, he owned and operated Flores Dental Lab in Sherman. Arnold and his wife, Mollie, also owned an office cleaning business in Plano for over 30 years.
Arnold was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Plano for many years, where he served as an usher. He was also involved in the Knights of Columbus.
Arnold enjoyed traveling, dancing, Mariachi music, the wonderful jazz tunes of Herb Alpert, the Dallas Cowboys, going to the movies, and watching Seinfeld. He was also an avid follower of current events; he loved reading his newspaper each morning, as well as watching the network news. Arnold enjoyed eating out; one of his favorite restaurants was the Olive Garden (or “The Garden” as he so fondly referred to it.) He loved Mexican food, as well.
Overall, Arnold was very easy going and enjoyed most things in life. He got along with everyone, and never had a negative word to say about others. Arnold was well liked and well loved, and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
More than anything, Arnold adored his wife, Mollie. He met her at his first job, parking cars at the “Nix Building” in San Antonio. Mollie also worked there, as an elevator operator. The two met and began dating, which turned into 66 wonderful years of marriage. Arnold built a wonderful family with Mollie, and he cherished them all, especially his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Arnold was preceded in death by his wife, Mollie Flores; siblings, Linda, Sista, Eva, Roger, Felise, and Pete. He is survived by his children, Arnold Flores, Jr. (Denise), Ray Flores (Debbie), Rick Flores (Linda), Debbie Becker (Jeff); grandchildren, Grant, Kelli, Ronnie, Jason, Daphanie, Molly, Dakota; and nine great-grandchildren.
