Annie Mary Truitt, lovingly known as “Ann or Cat”, departed this earthly life to be with the heavenly father on Sunday, January 8, 2023. Ann was one of 10 children born to Fate Felder and Rosie B. Stoglin on July 11, 1940, in Williamson County, Texas.
As a child, Ann attended church regularly with her mother and siblings. She loved going to church and attended Zion Chapel, located in Taylor, Texas. She would later become a member of First Baptist Church in Barstow, California.
Ann attended O.L. Price High School, in Taylor, Texas. She enjoyed attending school, and spending time with her family and friends. Ann would later receive her GED from the Adult School located at Central Texas College. She went on to become a CNA and worked in various Assisted Living Homes, in the Central Texas area.
Ann met and fell in love with David Truitt the love of her life. They married and moved to Killeen, Texas. During this time she had two children, Shuvon and Kahalia, whom she loved, cared for and encouraged them to finish school and go after their dreams. She would always tell her daughters, “Speak your mind and always fight for what believe in.” She loved music and you can find her dancing to any Motown Artist.
Ann became a foster mother and opened her home to children who needed a place to stay. She loved to sell Avon and was one of their biggest customers. Many can attest, because she would often gift Avon to others. When she was not selling Avon she was volunteering her time at the American Red Cross.
She resided in Killeen, Texas until 2006, when she relocated along with her husband and eldest daughter to Barstow, California. This move would place her within arms reach to her youngest daughter Kahalia Tunisha Anderson and son-in-law Johnnie Lee Anderson Jr. During this time she found joy in helping to raise her grandchildren Rolando Clifton Anderson, and Jayahna Kahalia Anderson.
