Born on August 10, 1921 to Ben and Norena Duke in Van Zandt County, Texas, Ann passed away on December 10, 2014. Ann is survived by her sons, David Parker Jr. and wife Cynthia, and Dale Parker; daughter, DeDe Parker-Todd and husband John Todd; grandsons, David A Parker III, Ben Parker, and John Paul Todd and wife Stephanie; granddaughter, Jennifer Todd; great grandsons, Joseph Todd and Taylor Nifong; brothers, Wallace Duke and wife Martha, and Bill Duke. She is preceded by her husband Col. David A Parker Sr. with whom she shared 48 loving years of marriage before his passing in 1991. She is also preceded by sisters, Faye Marie Fellers and Ruby Lee Gregory, and brother, Hollis Duke. Having a great love of continuous learning, Ann attained two Master’s Degrees, served as Dean of Women, Diagnostic Counselor for Children with Learning Disabilities, Special Education Instructor and Dean of Student Counselors at various private and public schools across the country.
A memorial service will be held on December 27, 2014, prior to her being laid to rest by her beloved husband at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
