Ann M. McKinney, 88, passed away on July 11, 2014 in Manvel, Texas. She was born Ann Straka on February 8, 1926 in Ennis, Texas. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in Dallas in 1944. She went to work at Neiman Marcus in Downtown Dallas where she met her husband of 61 years, Joe N. McKinney. They were both founding members of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Dallas. Ann was a very active member of the parish, performing various functions in the Ladies’ Guild, funeral choir and as sacristan.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband Joe in October 2013. She is survived by her son, Stephen McKinney and wife Lorraine of Sugar Land; Grandson, Danny McKinney of McKinney, and great-grandchildren, Teagan McKinney of Hurst and Grayson McKinney of McKinney.
The family will receive friends at a visitation on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. with a rosary beginning at 6:30 P.M. at Calvary Hill Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 4015 S. Hampton, Dallas, TX 75224. Interment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
