Anita Jo Phelps, born on May 11, 1939 in Malta, Montana, died peacefully on March 16, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. She graduated high school in 1957, and went on to study nursing at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, where she graduated in 1960. She married William Lee Phelps on November 26, 1960 in St. Louis. They went on to work together in Tripoli while William was in the Air Force. They went on to have four children: William Lee Phelps, II, Steven Harris Phelps, Julia Ann Phelps, and Jeffrey Bradford Phelps. They moved to Dallas in 1965, and moved into their current residence in March of 1967. She was an active wife, mother and Home Room Mother. She loved interior decorating, and started her own business, Dal-Wad Decorative, Inc. She is survived by her husband, William Lee Phelps, M.D., her three sons, her two older sisters, Beverly and Patricia, three grandsons: Luke Ryan, Jake William, and Nash Henry Phelps, and eight nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 20 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel, Dr. Don Benton officiating, with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, or Operation Kindness.
