Surrounded by loving family and fortified by the rites of the Church she so loved, Anita Rose Jones Heines departed this life early Tuesday, February 3, 2015. A proud native of Memphis, Tennessee, Anita was known for her Irish wit, and irrepressible personality. Her wide range of interests included opera and theatre, the arts and literature. She wrote five unpublished novels, directed musical theatre, and traveled extensively. A woman of great faith, her church involvement included leadership in a parochial school Mother's Club, serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, leading a high school catechetical program, and participating in the spiritual life of her community through daily Mass and the recitation of the rosary. Anita's greatest joy came in her role as a faithful wife of Tony Heines for fifty years until his death in 2004, and as mother to their five children, one of which, Jimmy, predeceased her just two years ago. She is survived by the others and her grandchildren: daughter Elisa Liss of Oregon and her husband Jim; son Andy and his wife Vivienne of Corpus Christi and their three children, Zachary, Aaron, and Tessa; daughter Angela Morris of Allen and her three children, Christopher, Kelly, and Tony; and son, the Reverend Father Timothy J. Heines of Richardson. Like the prophetess Anna of the Temple, she was a woman of great faith and perseverance who awaited the consolation of Israel with great strength and character. A vigil vespers service will be celebrated Sunday, February 8, at 7 PM at St. Joseph Church, 600 S. Jupiter Rd. Richardson, Texas, 75081, the Most Rev. Michael Olson, presiding. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, February 9, at 10:30 AM, also at St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the St. Joseph Church Worship Fund.
