Andres Zapata

Andres was born to Andrés Zapata and Evangelina Velázquez in San Luis Potosí, Mexico on April 11, 1940.

Andres is survived by his wife Josefina Zapata; son Gerardo Escobedo and his wife Lourdes Álvarez; siblings Cecilio Zapata, Enrique Garcia, Genoveva Zapata-Cortes, Rosa María Vela, María Teresa Vela, Julie García, and Sonia García; grandchildren Hermerson Díaz, Odalis Díaz, Alexis D. Escobedo, Dylan E. Escobedo, Yésica Escobedo, Julian Ruiz, Sophia García, Oscar Chavez, Christopher Escobedo, Emma García, and Lian E. Escobedo.

He is preceded in death by his parents Andrés Zapata and Evangelina Velázquez; siblings Eliseo Vela, Gabriel Vela, Derly Enrique Garcia; grandparents Celina Escobedo, Luis Gerardo Escobedo, Marco Antonio Escobedo, Eduardo Escobedo, and Mayela Escobedo.

A visitation for Andres will be held April 14, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, Texas 75220. A liturgy of the word will begin at 1:00 PM April 15, 2025 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
