Amelia Irma Von Tress, 88, of Carrollton, Texas passed away on April 5, 2025. She was born in Colón, Republic of Panama, on March 27, 1937. Irma graduated from Cristobal High School and received a bachelor of business administration degree from Butler University. She married Norris Keim on May 13, 2006. She was previously married to Robert Von Tress, from 1964 until his death in 1994.
Irma had a career in human resources for numerous agencies of the US Federal Government, including the DOD, IRS, EPS, and USCIS. She was also a member of many organizations and clubs throughout the years. Some of her favorites were the United Nations Singers, the Highland Park Methodist Roundtable class, Soroptimist International women’s volunteer organization, and Bible Study Fellowship.
Irma was known for her generosity and loving hospitality. She loved attending family gatherings, and she prepared beloved dishes for many occasions. She is remembered by so many as showing genuine interest in their lives, and her big smile lit up the room. Irma was passionate about family (especially her grandchildren!), her faith in Jesus, and appreciation of the arts and Panamanian culture.
Irma is survived by her husband, Norris Keim; her son David Von Tress and his wife Cara; grandchildren, Jacob, Joel, Anna, Braylen, and Caleb Von Tress; sisters Cynthia Lowe, Norma Porter, Deanna Shively, and Myrna Lowe; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on April 12, 2025, at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home.
