Amber Lucille Zimmermann, resident of the Garland area of Dallas for several decades, rests in the comfort of her God. She began life in the railroad and timber town of Davis, West Virginia, with parents Clyde E. Arnold and Amber L. (Paugh) Arnold. A black-and-white photo captures her young, lovely face as a new nurse in Baltimore. Amber married Dr. Eugene R. Zimmermann, a native of New York City and an oral pathologist whose research and teaching at the National Institute of Dental Research and Baylor College of Dentistry spanned many years. Amber joins those who left this earth before her - husband Eugene, brothers William Arnold of Ohio and Clyde Arnold of Delaware, daughter Tracey Zoe Nelson of California, and son Lynn R. Zimmermann of Dallas. Those who join to remember Amber are son Dale R. Zimmermann of Dallas; grandson Josef M. Zimmermann, his wife Ashley Zimmermann, and their sons Brandt and Bennett of Maryland; Josef's mother Charmaine Sides of New Mexico; and granddaughter Ana Nelson, grandson Alek Nelson, and their father Christopher Nelson of California. Amber was kind, generous, and nonjudgmental - she believed in equality for all. She lived quietly and gave her time and energy to many local volunteer organizations: the League of Women Voters, the White Rock Center of Hope, and various hospitals and nursing homes. Thank you to her good friends, many at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, for watching over her, and to the staff at Diversicare of Lake Highlands who gently cared for her.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Sparkman-Crane.com for the Zimmermann family.
