Allen was born on September 4, 1964, in Arlington, Texas. He grew up in a loving home created by Ben and Peggy Shaw and his sisters, Salina and Morgana and his brother, Benjamin. He loved his family and extended family, doting on them and giving selflessly, making holidays extra special and carefree.
Allen had a deep Christian faith believing he would, one day, leave this world for his heavenly home, reuniting with loved ones, including his younger sister, Cindy.
In his professional life, Allen earned a well-deserved promotion with his employer, CTS, as a big rig trainer. He, also, published two books: “Journey into the Mind of an Unpublished Writer” And Puppies: 10 Questions To Know Before Inviting The Slobber Monster Into Your Home”We can only assume he consulted himself before adopting his beautiful dog, Athena, who is just a year old. He also published a short story recounting frequent dreams in which his late sister, Cindy, would have special visits with him.
His sense of humor was unique and unapologetic. If he thought a joke was funny, he’d laugh unreservedly... even if nobody else did. Allen was very proud of serving his country in the Army from 1986 to 1990. He said that, after several months, he was able to forgive the Army for shaving off his heavy metal Afro.
Allen is survived by his parents, Ben and Peggy Shaw; sisters, Morgana Shaw and Salina Shaw Van Roy; brother, Benjamin Shaw, Aunt Barbara Prisock. He had numerous adoring aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grand-nephews and cousins.
Allen was 54. He was filled with hope, excitement for his future and a new found peace with himself on his continuing journey to self-improvement through his personal trainer, Bible studies, love for Athena, writing and endless love for his family.
