Alicia Ramirez Jones

Alicia Ramirez Jones went to her final resting place on January 28th, 2011. Alicia was a long time resident of Brownsville, TX prior to moving to Dallas, TX in 1998. She was born in Soledad, Veracruz in Mexico on January 5, 1933 to Benigno Ramirez and Maria Nuñez. She is survived by her three children, Allen Jones, Alice Rodriguez and Grace Hernandez, and seven grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband William Howard Jones, her son William David Jones, and 5 of her siblings. She moved to Brownsville, TX in 1950 and married William Howard Jones in 1959. She worked for several years for a head start program before retiring 15 years ago. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dallas, TX and a member of the altar society of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Brownsville, TX. A rosary will be held on Sunday January 30th, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225. A mass will be held on 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 31, 2011 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on her behalf to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
