Alice Louise Weaver, “Say”, was born Alice Louise Sandford on November 1, 1932, in Streetman, TX to Joe Wesley Sanford and Clara Oaks. She was the second of seven siblings. She received her formal education in Currie, Corsicana and Bristol, Texas. Alice was united in Holy matrimony to Milton Weaver, Sr. in 1948 and during this union two sons were born: Billy Joe Weaver and Milton Weaver, Jr. After this union, later in life, she brought into this world, Brenda Louise (Connor) Campbell and Barbara Ann (Sims) Roy. Alice worked as an in-home domestic for numerous years. She later worked for Fishburn Cleaners and finally the Dallas Market Center/Market Hall until retirement.
Alice accepted Christ early in life. She became a faithful member of Living Testimony Baptist Church for more than 40 years. She served faithfully in the church choirs until her health started to fail. She loved attending services at church. Her hobbies included fishing, playing dominoes, and listening to the blues. One of her prayers was to celebrate her 90th birthday—which she did, by God’s grace.
On November 2, 2022, Alice transitioned form her earthly home to be with the Lord and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her husband, Milton Weaver, Sr., parents Joe Sanford and Clara Oaks Spence, brother Leroy Granville, sisters Martha N. Mosely, Callie J. Spence, son-in-law Jessie Roy, grandson Billy J. Haney, great-granddaughters Di’Metra Coleman and DeAsia Dean.
She leaves those who will forever cherish her memory—children: Billy (Juanita), Milton (Cynthia), Brenda (Michael), Barbara Roy; grandchildren: Rodrick (Shelonda), Nedra (Brandon), Randon (Tammy), Amanda (Derrick), Tiffany (Vance), DeAndre; 18 great-grandchildren and special friends Kenneth & Diane Ballard, Verna Peters, Baby Ruth Sneed and Elizabeth Sims.
