Aged 83, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on March 9, 2011 in Irving, Texas. She was born on January 14, 1928, in Tunis, Tunisia to Virginia and Alfred Camilleri. Preceded in death by her husband, H. Wayne Dortch, and her brothers, Hector and Marcel Camilleri. Alice immigrated to the United States in her early 20’s after surviving the Nazi occupation of Tunisia. After gaining her citizenship to the US, she traveled to Paris, France where she met her Texas boy, Wayne. She and Wayne were married 52 years and were the parents of 5 girls. Alice loved her family, friends, and neighbors. She was active at the Athena and with Women of Rotary. She is survived by her five daughters and their husbands: Marinell and Kent Dowden, Monique and Ron Bower, Michelle and David Allen, Marlene and Doug Thomson and Marcella and Jeff Stark. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A visitation will be held from 8 to 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 15th at Sparkman Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 16th at Christ The King Catholic Church following a private burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
