Albert Hawes born in Dallas, Tx April 16,1936 passed
away peacefully March 25,2018 in Kemp, Texas. The son of the late Albert & Vera Hawes. Al was raised in
Dallas, Tx and graduated from North Dallas High. Al went to SMU to play baseball and graduated from North Texas in Denton, TX. He married Sylvia Cobb on 5/16/1955. Al taught algebra and coached football and baseball at Cary Middle school, Thomas Jefferson High School (Dallas, TX), Hill Junior College, (Hillsboro, TX), Newman Smith High School, (Carrollton, TX) and retired from Highland Park HS in 1997. Al enjoyed having Michael Aday – better known as Meatloaf, as his manager at Thomas Jefferson. His love for baseball was passed down from his Father - Albert Kennedy Hawes and was passed down to his sons and grandsons as well. He loved to watch the Rangers and the Cowboys. After retiring and moving to Cedar Creek his love for golf and his puppies became his passions. He could be found on the golf course with ex- students and friends or at the house with Diamond Deb and Holle.
He is survived by loving wife, Sylvia Hawes, daughter Kathye Carrico (Dean),
sons Joe Michael (Terie) and Jim Hawes (Cathy) ,Brother Jim Hawes, and his beloved grandchildren, Bryan, Chris, Joey, Bobby, Kellye, Jimmy, Lauren, Samantha and Jonathon, and great grand children Allison, Bailey, Kayla, Gus, Brandon and Russell, and his niece Jamie and nephew Kevin.
Preceded in death daughter Debbye Hawes.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Alzheimers Association or a charity of your choice.
A memorial service will be held April 21, 2018 at Sparkman Hillcrest at 3:00pm.
