Adolfo Duarte departed this life at 83 on September 19, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 11, 1936 in Agua Prieta, Mexico. He was a loving son of Jose Dolores Duarte Rosado and Maria Ponce Gomez and a loving brother to Guillermo, Ernesto, Armando, Jose Ramon, Eduardo, and Ricardo. After attending high school at Cathedral Catholic High School in El Paso, TX, he went on to join the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed and completed his active duty in Long Beach, CA. It was during this time in the service, that he took great pride in becoming a US Citizen. Upon one of his military leaves for a visit back home, he confidently asked the beautiful girl next door out on a date. He had a whirlwind long-distance courtship with the love of his life and future wife of 59 years, Martha Silvia Duarte. Adolfo was known for his independence and entrepreneurial spirit. This drive in him lead to the opening of his transmission auto shop. The shop, Cowboy Park Transmissions, was well known by many in the El Paso community because of the outgoing and gregarious nature of Adolfo “Cowboy” Duarte.
Adolfo is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Martha, his five sons and daughters, Arturo, Terry, Adolfo, Cecilia, and Martha. He is also survived by his three brothers, Armando, Jose, and Ricardo Duarte. He was a loving grandfather to 18 grandchildren and to 14 great grandchildren. He will be welcomed in heaven by his mother his father, his deceased brothers, and his endeared eldest grandson Daniel Mendoza.
Funeral services will be at the Sparkman Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Rd, Dallas, TX 75218 on Saturday, September 26, 2020, from 10:00 am -12:30 pm. The viewing commences at 10:00 am, followed by the rosary at 11:00 am and services.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Adolfo’s memory to the American Heart Association.
