Bill passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas, North Carolina. He was a versatile man who retired from Pathway’s Behavior Health. A member of MENSA, Bill quietly showed his skills, teaching computer classes to various groups and individuals. Bill was intuitive when it came to the interworkings of IT systems along with the mechanical movements of an engine. To add, he loved racing cars, maintaining his lawn, growing his own vegetables in his garden and tending to his rose bushes. Bill served his country proudly as he was a United States Army Veteran from the Vietnam Era.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas Cotton and Amanda Miller Cotton along with his brother George Cotton.
Those left to cherish Bill’s memories are his wife of 20 years, Vivian Rogers Cotton; his daughter and son-in-law: Christina and Larry Foulkes of Ravenna, Ohio; his son and daughter-in-law: James “Bob” Cotton and Heidi of Troutman, North Carolina; two stepsons: James Holland of Dallas, North Carolina and John Holland of Crouse, North Carolina; five beautiful grandchildren: Mason Major, Harris and Gray Holland, Hunter and Tyler Holland. And not to forget his loyal and faithful dogs Casper and Buddy.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, October, 17, 2015 at Christ United Methodist Church with Reverend Matt Morris delivering words of comfort.
Following the Ceremony, the family will receive friends from 2:30 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.
