DALLAS — Mae Maxine Propst Proctor, 83, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 22,
2011 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late David H. and Irene
Burton Propst.
Mrs. Proctor was a member of Hardin Baptist Church. She retired from Gaston
Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse and was a member of Eastern Star of
Dallas #262.
She is survived by her children, Phyllis P. Fugate and husband, Donald of
Gastonia, James C. Proctor Jr. of Dallas, Charles E. Proctor of Dallas, Sheila
R. Proctor of Dallas; brothers, Frank Propst, Bill Propst, Darrell Propst, Larry
Propst, Roger Dale Propst, Gary Propst; sisters, Betty Atkins, Edna Stiles,
Linda Lewallen; grandchildren, David H. Truett Jr., James D. Proctor, Travis D.
Proctor, Alicia Baucom, Melanie Sumner, Charles E. Proctor Jr.; great
grandchildren, Ashia Truett, Ethan Truett, Jade Truett, Cody Baucom, Anthony
Baucom, Aubrey Baucom, Abel Sumner, Bailey Sumner and Gavin Proctor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C.
Proctor; sister, Margie Lee Propst; brothers, David H. Propst Jr. and Ralph
Propst.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at Hardin Baptist Church with Rev.
Fain Farmer and Rev. David Stewart officiating.
Mrs. Proctor will lie in state from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the church prior to
the service.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Dallas Funeral Home.
