Irene S Carpenter

She was born in Gastonia and was the daughter of the late Robert Edd and Lavina Summey Carpenter.

Miss Carpenter retired from O. G. Penegar Company as Office Manager. She was a lifetime member of Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.

Miss Carpenter is survived by her cousins, Wilma Bumgardner, Renee Mackey and husband Bo of Gastonia, Lori Myers and son Tyler Watts of Lincolnton, Sandy Albright and husband Larry of Stanley, Pam Harris and husband Lynn of Spartanburg, Linda Perry and husband Danny, Sharon Severynse and husband Tom of Aiken, Ivalee Boyd of Dallas.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church, Dallas with the funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. Thursday at Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Shaw officiating.

Interment will follow in Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.
