Howard Lee Gibson

Fishing, riding motorcycles and singing karaoke, were a few of the pleasures of Howard Lee Gibson… Howard passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, North Carolina. Camping, campfires and being a member of the volunteer fire department were loves of Howard, not to mention the love he had for his family. Howard will be missed, but not forgotten by his loving family and friends.

Those left behind to carry on Howard’s memories are Joyce Pasour of Dallas, North Carolina; two daughters and sons in law: Janice and Jay Dee Wright, Jenny and Bryan Beckham all of Dallas, North Carolina; granddaughter and grandson in law: Krystal and Derek Helton; three great grandsons: Joseph Helton, Jacob Helton and John Helton; sister and brother in law: Ellie and Rueben Rhyne of Lincolnton, North Carolina; brothers and sister in law: Paul McRonald and Teresa Gibson of Belmont, North Carolina, Winfred “Dan” Gibson of Lincolnton, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Howard was the son of the late Jim Gibson and Carrie Guy Gibson. He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Nellie Shealy and Mary Ruth Gibson; four brothers: John Dee Gibson, James “Bud” Crawford Gibson, Roy Daniel Gibson and Robert McKinley Gibson.

A Life Well Celebrated Ceremony will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 7, 2017 in the Chapel at the Dallas Funeral Home with Pastor Sherman Branch delivering words of comfort to Howard's family and friends. Active pallbearers are Sonny Gibson, Bo Rhyne, Curtis Gibson, James Hudspeth, Sam Martin and Fred H. Cloninger. Graveside and committal services will follow in the Garden of Prayer at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina.

The family will receive guests from 6:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM, Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Dallas Funeral Home, 212 West Trade Street, Dallas, North Carolina.
