Howard Franklin Banks, 77, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2016. He was born December 2, 1938 in Cabarrus County to the late Robert and Fannie (Smith) Banks. Howard will be remembered by his family as happy, funny and friendly. He loved children and they loved him. He loved to tell a good joke and make people laugh. He had a contagious sense of humor. He was very patriotic and loved his country and the American Flag. Last but not least he loved to country dance and had a heart for people, especially his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Tabitha Kanipe (David) of Ellenboro, NC, Mary Jane Banks of Gastonia, NC and step-daughter, Janet Bickley (Brian) of Grover, NC; four grandchildren, Floyd Barker, Misty West, Madison and Matthew Banks.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park. Interment will follow in the cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.
