Edna Mae Hawkins Jenkins

Edna Mae Hawkins Jenkins, age 89, of Dallas, passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Gastonia and was the daughter of the late Sylvanus Hawkins, Sr. and Mae Rhyne Hawkins.

Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Hillview Baptist Church, Dallas.

Mrs. Jenkins is survived by two daughters, Ruth Warren of the home, Shirley Burnette and husband Tommy of Alexis; three sons, Robert “Bobby” Jenkins and wife Colleen of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Billy Jenkins and wife Theresa, Larry Jenkins and wife Gloria of Dallas; two brothers, Sam Hawkins of Georgia, Lewis Hawkins of Dallas; one sister, Jean Robinson of Dallas; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. Thursday at Dallas Funeral Home, 212 West Trade Street, Dallas.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Friday at Hillview Baptist Church, Dallas with Pastor Reavis Fox.

Entombment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be M. P. Warren, Danny Warren, Billy Jenkins, Jr., Tony Jenkins, Gregory Jenkins, Johnathan Jenkins.

Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years, Marshall “Bud” P. Jenkins; brother, S. L. Hawkins; sister, Tishia Jenkins; son-in-law, Paul Warren.
