Carol Diane Hampton Wooten, age 56, passed away unexpectedly on Friday ~ July 17, 2020 at her residence in Gastonia, North Carolina. Carol was a Mama to everyone and loved to take blankets in the backyard and have picnics with her children. She loved to pet and baby her children and the grandbabies were the joy of her life and she had a very special relationship with her granddaughter Taylor. Carol would do anything and everything with her kids. Her sense of humor was unlimited with her family and she loved to scare her kids in fun. Carol had an excitement for her animals, fishing, walking, planting her flowers, sunbathing and watching television. She will always be known for sacrificing herself for her family and friends.
Those left behind to cherish Carol's memories and carry on her legacy are her mother: Virginia Mullinax Hampton of Bessemer City, North Carolina; companion: Ed Perkins of the home; two daughters: Jennifer Wooten and husband Anthony Hughes of Dallas, North Carolina, Heather Wooten of Kings Mountain, North Carolina; son: Chris Wooten and fiancée Jennifer Cook of Dallas, North Carolina; sister: Susan Hampton of Gastonia, North Carolina; two brothers: Randy Hampton and Robert Hampton of Bessemer City, North Carolina; eight grandchildren: Taylor Wooten, Kimberley Hughes, Tyler Hughes, Chad Hughes, Cameron Hughes, Hayleigh Stone, Allie Rae Mauney and Daniel Wooten; three great grandchildren: Easton Tindal, Parker Hughes and Rhettley Parton (who's due to enter this world in September); two fur-babies: Chewy and Daisy; several nieces and nephews who Carol had a very special relationship with also survive.
Carol was the daughter of the late Bobby Eugene Hampton who passed away in 2002 and her stepfather Calvin Hampton who passed away in 2015. She was also preceded in death by one brother Ronnie Hampton.
A Life Well Celebrated Ceremony will be held at 8:00 PM Wednesday ~ July 22, 2020 in the Memorial Chapel of the Dallas Funeral Home, 212 West Trade Street, Dallas, North Carolina with Reverend Roger Overton delivering words of hope and comfort to Carol's family and friends.
The family will gather and receives guests from 6:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM prior to the service while drawing strength from your support as they share stories and allow friends to say their final goodbyes to Carol.
