Brenda was born in Gaston County on February 9, 1942, and graduated from Holbrook High School. She spent most of her career working in medical offices.
She was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church in Bessemer City.
Brenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She always had a passion for her family, mission trips, and service in her church. She is best known for being a prayer warrior with unwavering faith in God. Her faith was evident in every aspect of her life. Brenda loved her family and treated others as if they were her own. Her life was a testament to her unwavering belief in kindness and compassion.
In the hearts of those who knew her, Brenda’s memory will endure as a beacon of love, faith and familial devotion. As we mourn her passing, let us celebrate a life well-lived, remembering the mark she left on the hearts of her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by parents Tom and Mabel Flowers and great- granddaughter Bailee Rushing.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, John Williamson, daughters and sons-in-law Lynne and George Leone, Sharon and Dale Abernathy, and Kelly and David Shears; Grandchildren Andra Thompson (Steve), Samantha Alexander (Josh), Brett Rushing (Melissa), Cameron Rushing (Chelsea), Haley Rodgers (Christian), Heather Jernigan (Michael) Joni Word, fifteen great grandchildren and her sister and brother-in-law Bobbie and Doug Hollifield.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 pm at the graveside at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, 1508 Charles Raper Jonas Highway, Mount Holly. The family will receive friends before the service at the Dallas Funeral Home, 212 West Trade Street, Dallas, North Carolina. The visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm. Following the visitation their will be a processional from the Dallas Funeral Home to Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery. Reverend Charles Keller, of Fraley Memorial Baptist Church will officiate. Brett Rushing, Cameron Rushing, Christian Rodgers, Dale Abernathy, David Shears and Landon Thompson are her pallbearers.
