Mary Elizabeth Nimchuk

Passed away at the Villa Renaissance on Tuesday, October 08, 2024 at the age of 84, Mrs. Mary “Betty” Nimchuk of Dalhousie, wife of Thomas Nimchuk. Mary was born November 2nd 1939 in New Waterford, NS to the late Michael Sheppard and the late Mildred Bennett.

Betty is survived by siblings Denise & Susan, children Sheldon “Iqaluit, NU” and Wayne (Raylene) “Beaumont, AB”, grandchildren Corey (Jill), Danika & Ellery, step-grandchildren Blake, Kelsey, Keegan & Chelesa along with great-grandchildren Carter, Cohen & Madelyn “Maddy”.

Betty was predeceased by siblings, Mickey, Wayne and Garfield. And survived by many nieces, nephews and in-laws as well as extended family Ruby, Susie & Mark.

Betty was formerly employed with Sydney City Hospital as well as the Dalhousie Nursing Home.

Betty’s family wish to extend sincerest gratitude to staff of the Dalhousie Ville Renaissance for their dedicated and compassionate care. Respecting Betty’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or visitation at the funeral home, however donations may be offered to the Canadian Lung Association.
