Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on March 12th, 2017 at the age of 97, Mr. David Poirier of the Veteran’s Unit at the Hospital and formerly of Point La Nim, husband of the late Anita LeBlanc. Born on February 14, 1920 in Balmoral, he was the son of the late Lazare and Marguerite Poirier.
He is survived by his daughter Alice (Chris) Kingston of Dalhousie, daughter Pauline of Moncton, daughter Nicole of Dalhousie, daughter Monique of Campbellton, daughter Suzanne of Balmoral, and daughter Collette of Florida. His brothers Maurice and George of Dalhousie. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Anita and brothers Edgar, Lionel and Arthur and by his sisters Evangeline, Theresa, Gemma.
A funeral mass will be held at the St. John Bosco Church, Dalhousie, Monday at 11:00 am.
Visitation at Maher’s Funeral Home, 421 Victoria St., Dalhousie, Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00, as well as Monday morning from 10:00 am until time of funeral.
All members of the Knight of Columbus council #4856 (Dalhousie) are asked to meet at Maher’s Funeral Home on Sunday evening at 7:30 pm for prayers.
Legion members of Dalhousie, branch # 17 and all members of the Royal Canadian Legion are asked to meet at the Church on Monday morning for 11:00 am for Legion Service.
Donations to the Dalhousie Nursing Home would be appreciated by the family.
