Omar is survived by his wife, Diane Meza; his parents, Jose and Laura Meza; and his brother, Sven Meza.
Omar was born March 24, 1981, in San Diego to Jose and Laura Meza. In 2002, he graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor of arts, Music Industry. Omar worked his way up from the mailroom to Agent Assistant at the legendary William Morris Agency. Soon after, he left to manage and produce his first project, Hustler's Instinct. As for many others, the entertainment industry was not Omar’s ultimate path. He was lucky to have a close friend offer him entry into the financial industry. Omar covered a territory that included Los Angeles, North Orange County, the Inland Empire and Las Vegas for the annuity division of AIG Financial Distributors where he built strong customer relationships and gained many friends along the way. He achieved several awards including the prestigious 20/20 Club and was a member of the Senior Management Advisory Committee, providing valuable insight into various areas of the business.
On May 16, 2009, he married Diane. Omar was a devoted husband and avid traveler. He and Diane enjoyed their adventures together, visiting different countries and learning about different cultures. With his wife, Omar traveled to Japan, China, Mexico, France, Italy, and Monte Carlo. Omar was a first-degree black belt in kickboxing; he also enjoyed reading books on finance and biographies in his spare time. Omar’s bright, cheerful spirit and enthusiasm led many to describe him as a bon vivant—he knew how to have a good time and enjoy life, and those who spent time with him found themselves having a good time and enjoying life. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 A.M. on January 26 at St. Monica Church in Santa Monica, California. Flowers, donations and condolences may be offered at: 220 Sepulveda Boulevard, Culver City, CA 90230.
