Kevin was the kindest, smartest, funniest, most hardworking person I’ve ever met. He was my mentor and manager at Reuters in LA. He was the first one in the office and the last one to leave every single day. Kevin would pick us up from the airport coming back from covering mass shootings, hurricanes and tornadoes (what boss does that?!). I would not have my career if not for Kevin. His guidance, his patience (I don’t know anyone to this day who stays so confident, calm and collected on every single breaking news story we’ve had to cover) and most of all his wit was what made him the best thing about LA. I stayed for as long as I did only because of him. Kevin gave me my future. I owe him my life. I will love and miss him forever.

So sorry to hear that Kevin has passed. He was always very kind and helpful and a gentle soul with a wicked sense of humor. . Kevin will be dearly missed.

What can anyone say, such a loss, too soon. His laugh, his spirit and willingness to help others will be missed.  I can close my eyes and see and hear his laugh with that wry smile. My condolences to his brother Brian and his sister-n law, nephew and mother.   Aron Ranen
