Joseph Francis Eich

Joe Eich, a singer, composer, arranger began his career in the 1940s playing trumpet in Jimmy Smith's territory band and later in the Claude Thornhill Orchestra. In 1950 he moved to New York and joined the Mello-Larks, a popular vocal group that appeared regularly on Broadway Open House, a late night TV show. The Mello-Larks also appeared on more than a thousand network shows in the 1950s and played in nightclubs and theaters throughout the country. In 1958 Joe moved to Chicago, formed The Joe Eich Singers, and performed in many clubs throughout the Midwest. During this time, he also composed and produced industrials and commercials for many nationally known companies. In 1966 he moved to Los Angeles where he continued to write and perform with his vocal group. He also appeared in several commercials and films. Joe was a member of Screen Actors Guild, the American federation of Radio and Television Artists, and the American Federation of Musicians and was an avid golf player.

Joseph is survived by his spouse, Barbara Eich.
