A beloved son and brother, Greg was an endlessly creative free-thinker and talented writer who expressed himself through incredible short stories and led a writing group at the Pico Family and Youth Center. Unlike other men his age, Greg had no use for sports, instead choosing to spend his time discovering new music and indulging his talent in the kitchen by cooking for those he loved. When he wasn’t creating a meal to the soundtrack of an obscure band only he knew about, Greg would almost always be found in the gym lifting weights, doing yoga, or practicing meditation.
A self-described pescatarian (who sometimes made exceptions for meat - but only if it was delicious) and video game enthusiast, Greg always had a big smile on his face and a joke that was sure to have anyone near him laughing at his quick wit. He will be endlessly missed by all who knew him and on whose life he had an impact.
Greg is survived by his mother, Grace Olmeda, father Gregory Olmeda Sr, and brother John Olmeda.
A viewing will be held at Gates, Kingsley & Gates Smith Salsbury on, Friday, January 8th at 12pm, with a mass to be held later at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.
Condolences may be sent to the Olmeda Family. If you would like to give something in lieu of flowers, a donation in Greg’s name can be made to your chosen charity.
