Don Hanson, 88, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2023. Born in Santa Monica on January 29, 1935, he lived his entire life in the south bay area. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Maggie, daughter Kim and her husband Steve Krantz, son Brad and his wife Ann, and granddaughter Jen and her partner Daniela.
Don’s passion for life included many days with his family at the beach, following local sports teams – especially the USC Trojans, and he loved hosting backyard barbecues with family and friends. Many birthdays were celebrated at Santa Anita Racetrack, cheering on his favorite jockeys and horses. He loved dancing with Maggie, painting, drawing, writing and took up acting later in life at the local community center.
