Born in Bemidji MN, September 18, 1937, to William (Ted) Scully and Leone Scully.
Raised in Minot, David went to school at St. Leos, graduating in 1955. David attended college at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, where he received his Bachelor of Science-Mathematics degree June 3, 1962. He was a proud Mensa card carrying member.
David’s military service, active and reserve, ran from 1956-1962 where he served state-side and oversea, in Germany. While there he watched the Berlin wall being built.
David worked as a computer engineer for Unisys Corp throughout his career in California, Canada, Hong Kong, Atlanta and Australia.
After retiring David traveled the world with the goal of experiencing every continent – He did! He served in the Peace Corps 1997-1999 in Latvia where he met Nadia. David and Nadia, his Love, married July 12, 2002, when he became a stepfather to Nadia’s sons; Dmitrij and Igor. He remained active with bike riding, census work, helping Nadia with dog and child care, continuing education through Santa Monica College Emeritus courses and numerous other activities. David was always doing, teaching and helping.
Preceded in death by Father William (Ted) Scully and Mother Leone Scully, Patricia Scully, many friends and extended family members.
Survived by Wife Nadia Sprinza, Stepsons Dmitrij Sprinz and Igor Sprinz, Sister Dee Schmalz, many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in Los Angeles and Minneapolis.

Irish wake will be held after the funeral service at Casa de Marina 4928 McConnell Ave Los Angeles 90066.
Burial on August 21, 2023 at 10:30 am in Lancaster CA at Joshua Memorial Cemetery 808 East Lancaster Blvd, Lancaster, CA 93535 where he will be with his father.
Minneapolis on September 9, 2023 at 11 am at Pax Christi Catholic Church 12100 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie, MN 55347
Burial on September 11, 2023 at 10 am in Minot, North Dakota at Rosehill Cemetery 700 11th Ave SE, Minot, North Dakota 58701 where he will be with his mother.
