Ruby Virginia Hawkins

Ruby Virginia Hawkins, a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord on November 1st, 2024. Ruby was a dedicated CNA for over 40 years and was known for her strength, wit, and captivating storytelling, as well as her talents as a seamstress and her love for John Wayne, yard work, and plants. Her love for animals and her dedication to her family were unwavering, and she took great pride in her roles as a mother of four, grandmother of eleven, and great-grandmother of twenty. Ruby was a hard worker who never shied away from a challenge, and her resilience and determination were an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Vennie Jenkins, father Seth Jenkins, brothers George Jenkins, John Jenkins, Archie Jenkins, and Russell Jenkins, daughter Tina Stallings, son Gregory Hawkins, and granddaughter Cami Copeland. She is survived by her sister Elizabeth Carpenter-Pycha, daughter Angela Hawkins, son Aubrey Hawkins, ten grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren.
Ruby's family would like to express their gratitude to her wonderful caretakers and Hospice of the Piedmont for their compassionate care and support. Family and friends are invited to attend a service honoring Ruby's life on November 16th from 11-1 pm at Clore English Funeral Home in Culpeper, VA. A graveside service will follow at Woodland Methodist Church in Culpeper, VA. Afterward, a celebration of Ruby's life will take place during a fellowship gathering at Bethel Baptist Church in Reva, VA. All who knew and loved Ruby are welcome to join in remembering her remarkable life and the joy she brought to those around her.
