Aunt Retha was a beautiful, sweet, and very talented lady. Her artwork was amazing. Beautiful paintings. ❤️. She loved, and devoted herself to, her family.

Shelby, Teresa, Candice, there are no words that can take away the grief you all are feeling but thank you so much for sharing Mrs. Coleman with us. She was a true light and joy to be around, whether she was knitting, painting, playing bingo or fixing her beautiful hair her company was always so good to have. I feel blessed to have known her and been able to spend time with her. May God comfort your family and may Mrs. Coleman rest in heavenly peace with no more worries or pain, a guardian angel for you all.

I remember the joy of spending Easter at my great grandma's house, surrounded by the vibrant colors of spring and the aroma of her famous homemade dishes filling the air. She was the heart of our family, her wisdom and warmth making every gathering unforgettable. Her passion for art ignited a spark in me from a young age, and I feel incredibly lucky to have inherited that love from her. In addition to the cherished Easter gatherings, I fondly recall spending summers with my great grandma, where we'd embark on adventures together and create lasting memories. From attending Vacation Bible School to spending Halloween nights at church, every moment was infused with love and laughter. Those weekends during the summer were filled with exploration and learning, guided by her gentle wisdom and endless patience. She made every occasion special, and I am forever grateful for the richness she brought to my life. Having the opportunity to spend precious moments was a blessing I'll forever be grateful for. Not everyone gets to experience the joy and wisdom the way I did, and those memories are treasures I hold close to my heart. She was truly an amazing woman, and I cherish every moment I had with her.

How do you choose one memory over a lifetime of knowing someone? Grandma was so many things to so many people. No one laughed like her, and when she got tickled....her laugh was infectious to the point that I could not even remember what I was talking about. She was always such a good sport about letting us granddaughters stay at "Grandma's Inn" and putting on plays for her and Grandpa, too.

If I had to choose from my personal favorite memories, it would be how she took part in my wedding. From making the matron-of-honor wedding, to the arch I got married under, to the bouquet....it just made the day so special and memorable. I will always cherish it.
