Obituary of Lenora Christina Komar
Lenora Christina Komar, born January 13th, 1946 in Portland, Oregon passed away on November 11th, 2024. She is survived by her loving family; David Michael, her husband of 47 years; four children: Michelle, Jamie, Matthew (Alexandra) Komar, and Katherine (David) Sharp; five grandsons: Aron, Jason, Jackson, David Alan, and Jonathan; two brothers: Butch and Kenneth; several nieces and nephews: Angie, Mari, Susi, Vicki and John; and many cousins throughout Arkansas, Colorado and Oklahoma. While born in Oregon, Lenora (who went by Leni) was raised in Manzanola, a small town in southeastern Colorado. She was a horse lover from an early age, and continued to ride competitively throughout her life and travels. Later in life, Leni and David rescued horses on their farm in Reva, Virginia. They were a military family for over thirty years and traveled to several Pacific locations including: Australia, Japan and Guam, as well as numerous states. During their travels, Leni exhibited her artistic talent through oil paintings and stippling. She participated in and won numerous awards for her art work, especially in Virginia and Florida. When they finally settled in Virginia, Leni opened an interior design studio, that operated successfully for over ten years. After retiring, in spite of having a visual impairment, Leni took on the very complex lace knitting. Her beautiful works have been shared by many. Leni was a quick witted and aminated storyteller, drawing people in from the start. She was a gracious host; all were welcome and never left hungry. While admirable for many traits, her love and loyalty for her family were her greatest attributes Leni will be so greatly missed, but her legacy will certainly be remembered through her art work, knitting, and fierce love for her children and grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 17, 2024 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Clore-English Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, November 18, 2024 at 10:00am in Precious Blood Catholic Church, Culpeper, VA. Interment will be held at a later date in the Culpeper National Cemetery, Culpeper, VA.
