Those who knew Jeremy, lost a bright light in their lives. Jeremy had a contagious smile that was capable of lighting up everyone’s heart. Jeremy was a loyal and loving brother, cousin, nephew, and friend. Those who knew him, knew that they had friend for life.
Jeremy was a graduate of Eastern View High School and had a love for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed hiking White Oak Canyon with his brothers and friends. He had a passion for working with his hands and was skilled in many trades.
Jeremy is survived by his parents Nathaniel and Michelle Yates, Jr., his brothers Nathaniel and Brendan Yates, Micah Nelson, Jordyn Yates, sisters Taegen Cross, Alycea Freeman, and Natalie Yates. Grandparents Jody and James Smith, Roger and Patricia Jenkins, Nathaniel and Josephine Yates, great grandparents Joyce Inskeep, and Myrtle Baber. Three uncles, Gerald (Octavia) Yates, Landon and R.J. Jenkins, seven aunts Laura (John) Brent, Amy Jenkins-Loveless, Megan (Jack) Thomas, Emily Jenkins, Kaitlin Shepard, Catina (Marcus) Yates-Smith, and Amy (Terrance) Johnson. A niece, Lailah Yates. Cousins Chesnea Greene, Zoren Yates, Alexis (Shawn) Parham, Nicholas Smith, Tyler Yates, Kendall and Kingston Brent, Joey, Alivia, and Hayden Loveless, and Tiana and Terrance Jr. Johnson. Jeremy also leaves behind a plethora of close friends and extended family. Jeremy is preceded in death by his grandfather’s Claude “Pappy” Inskeep and Marshall Baber. Great grandparents Clinton White, William and Lucille Yates, and Broadus and Josephine Minor.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 1:00p.m. in the Culpeper United Methodist Church with Pastor John Hemming and Pastor Randy Orndorff officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper, VA.
