Hersey Hilbert Hynson

Hersey Hilbert Hynson was born on July 14, 1929 to Leona Hynland and Paul Hynson in Rockhall, MD. He moved to Takoma Park, MD, and became a colporter for the Seventh Day Adventist Church when he was 14 years old. He married Mildred Louise Degering on October 9, 1949, and they had four children: Norma, Shirley, Carol and Charles. Hersey worked as a general contractor for over 30 years at Furman Builders in Maryland. In 1997, Hersey and Mildred moved to Culpeper, VA., where they found deeply treasured friends and neighbors. Hersey was preceded in death by his wife of over 71 years, Mildred, and his siblings. He is survived by his four children: Norma (John Grubbs), Shirley (Don Ashley), Carol (Dale Pettibone) and Charles (Karen Ramsepaul); nine grandchildren: Melissa, Delta, Stephanie, Cami Anne, Dezra, Laura, Benjamin, Eric and Amy; and six great-grandchildren: Tyler, Trevor, Elaina, Christopher, Robin and Sylas.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 2, 2023 at 2:00PM at Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA.
